Expectations and Values - What are they good for?



1. What are expectations and values? Use a dictionary to define each word.Expectation: Looking forward or expecting.
Values: Worth, Merit or importance.

2. Why do we have expectations and values in our classroom, school and community?
To make sure that people don't run around littering, yelling and smashing car windows.3. What are some of the expectations in your classroom?
Our classroom has to be clean and tidy, we respect and encorage each other and encourage
other and work super hard.
4. How do your classroom expectations influence your learning?
They can help you make friends and push you to do your best in everything.

5. What would your classroom be like if you had no expectations and you could do whatever you wanted?
Everyone would be shouting, yelling and throwing stuff around.
6. If you could make an expectation for your class what would it be and why?
To be resepectful of everyone's work, because some kids laugh at others work.

7. What are your school values? How are they displayed in your classroom and at your school?
Our school values are respect, excellence and perserverance, and I think most people in our
school demonstrate these values by respecting each other, showing excellence in their work
and perservering through any challenge.

8. How do you get recognised for displaying your school values?
We get badges at our school. So if you get 30 of either respect, excellence or perserverance
and then if you get 50 of each you get a super R.E.P.

9. How do you think your school values link to your learning in your classroom?
They link in our learning because if everyone is respectful to eachother it will make a positive attuitde for everyone.

10. What are your family values and why are they important? If you don't have any come
up with some - what would be important values in your family and why?

We have respect and perserverance because it is importnat that everyone is nice and
that they try their hardest.

Blogger Prompt: Week 7 - Term 4 DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP With the advent of social media, mobile devices in the classroom and a range of e-learning tools in the classroom it is more important than ever that students are aware of the  long term  effects of leaving their digital footprint and learn to become good cyber citizens.  The concept of digital citizenship needs to be embedded in all aspects of work in schools with e-learning tools.
