NZ Census

Roll call! This year is a Census year. A census is a big question form that gathers lots of information about all the people in New Zealand. The census only happens every 5 years. It is a snapshot of the New Zealand population on one night every five years and is compulsory to complete.

Here are the questions for this week:

Q1: What is your favourite subject at school and why?
I really enjoy doing Maths, English, Art and Digi because I can create projects and learn new concepts and problems.

Q2: Do you have any pets? What are they and what are their names? If you don't have a pet what pet would you have if you did?
I have a Ragdoll cat called Prince Caspian and he is 3 years old. I also used to have a Shetland Sheepdog called Tara but we had to give her away when we moved.

Q3: What are some of your favourite foods?
I like Fettuccine, Sushi and nectarines.

Q4: What is your favourite sport? What do you like about it?
I like cricket because it is lots of fun to bowl and try to hit the ball when it is coming towards you. Another sport I like is Ice-Skating because when my friend took me for a lesson I really enjoyed it.

Q5: What is your favourite hobby?
Drawing or Calligraphy.

Q6: Who do you live with?
I live with my parents, my sister and my cat.

Q7: What is your ethnicity?
NZ European

Q8: The Census video talks about finding out if there are enough parks. Do you have a park in your suburb? Do you think your suburb needs a park or a better park? What would make it better?
We have a park down the road but it is very small and there is not much in it, so I think adding a flying fox or expanding it a bit would make it better.

Q9: Why do you think the government does a Census every 5 years?
To keep track of people and what they are doing.
